For our newly engaged Saskatoon couples, we have a treat for you! Since wedding photography can be intimidating, we have a little treat for you! A bonus blog post in the 8 Week Blog Series: How to plan a Wedding in Saskatoon, tips from some AH-mazing local wedding photographers on how to feel more comfortable in front of a camera (that does not involve tequila shots).
Ok so here is one very important thing to remember that should put you at ease... working with an experienced photographer allows you to relax and feel calm as they can help guide you through your wedding photos. It's your photographer's job to make you feel safe and comfortable in front of their lens. They don't expect you to show up knowing what to do, how to pose, where to put your hands, ect!
The #1 suggestions from some of the top wedding photographers in Saskatoon to feel more comfortable in front of the camera is to have an engagement session prior to your wedding!
Danielle from Danielle Stasiuk Photography says, "My number one suggestion is to have an engagement session with the photographer who will be photographing your wedding. This way the three of you can get to know one another better before the wedding day. You will get comfortable with their prompts and posing so it will feel familiar on your wedding day. I include engagement sessions in all of my wedding collections specifically for this reason. So I am the last thing you have to worry about on your wedding day."

Kristen from Bella Vita Photography has three fun things to share with all the newly engaged Saskatoon couples to help feel comfortable infront of the lens:
-playing music during the session helps to keep things flowy and fun
-have fun with one another, pretend like the photographer is not present, imagine you're on the set of your own love movie
-go along with the funny prompts, be yourself, and trust the process!

Madison Marie Photography says, "My biggest piece of advice that I would give to a couple when being in front of the camera is to just be themselves and if it helps you, pretend that your photographer isn't there. Do the things that you normally do and I can guarantee you that your images will feel more like you, than if you feel stiff and awkward the entire time. I can also assure you that while it's intimidating at first, you do begin to relax as time goes on."
So in summary, just show up as you are and the photographer will help guide you to epic photos! Sounds pretty easy right? Now you can breath a sigh of relief and look forward to your special day even more and that dreamy collection of wedding photos you will receive!
Smile away lovebirds!
